Give Away Winner

I recently had a drawing for a free sign on my Facebook page! I had posted that I'd give away the "Welcome" sign once we reached 200 likes and I am going to give away the "Home" sign when we reach 300! Last night the page exceeded 200 likes!! I was so excited to draw for the winner and contact them with the good news! Here is the sign that was to be given away:

It has a little antique looking drawer knob at the bottom, topped off with a cute burlap bow that is accented with a metal medallion that matches the knob! 

And the winner is:  ASHLEY MCNEELY! 

Ashley followed all of the directions to like the page, share the page/post and also commented on one of the pics. I was doing a little research after she won, and found that she has been the one to share the page the most!! So I'm so happy for her to have won!! Congrats Ashley!!

Now Accepting Orders Again

With Christmas around the corner, most of the ordered signs being mailed out this week and the rest being hand delivered between this week and next... I feel like I can breathe again! I stopped taking orders (sorta, lol) briefly, out of fear that I wouldn't be able to get any more completed by Christmas. But ever since I made the announcement that ordering from designsbykendra was on hold, I've received a handful of calls and messages from people wanting to order signs that would not be due by Christmas. So I've decided to release the "hold". ;) However, know that unless you are very local with an order for something pretty simple... I won't be able to get anymore orders completed for Christmas. But, if you are desiring a sign for after Christmas then you've come to the right place! Are you starting a "room re-do" as a gift for a loved one in your home?....Got most of it done but have a spot that's not filled yet?... Look no further. Lets take a look at what you've got and plan the perfect sign for that room! Or... Have you bought something for everyone in your family and now want to buy a little something for yourself?... Let me know what your favorite quote or scripture is... I know we can come up with the perfect sign for you! 

"Being a Family Means...." Sign is the perfect example of a sign you could order for yourself. :) Both of these read "Being a family means you are a part of something wonderful, it means that you will love and be loved for the rest of your life, no matter what!" How sweet is that?!?

Two For One

Don't you love getting good deals!? Like buy one get one free...two for one, or a percentage off your entire purchase? Of course! Everyone loves a bargain, right? Well I recently came across a way to throw in a little extra, a two for one deal, on a couple of my latest signs ordered by two awesome customers!

Most of the time I try to paint the backs of my signs. I hate for them to just look like bare wood. So I painted the backs of these two signs:

They were each made from the same type of wood...from an old antique hand/home-made dresser. These are the sides of that dresser. Anywho, I painted the backs of them and fell in love with the backs just as much as the fronts! I decided that I just absolutely could NOT leave them bare! I had to do something to them! I wanted it to be something quick and simple but something that is "in" and makes a statement. Have you seen the Love signs on Pinterest lately? The ones that simply have the word "love" painted at the bottom of the sign? That's what I decided to do. :) Here are the backs of the finished signs!...

They will be perfect for Valentines Day... Or any day! But if they don't like them of course they never have to turn them around. ;) I think they will like them though! Whatcha think?? 

....Faith, Hope, and Love....and the greatest of these is LOVE!.....

Snowed In

We've been snowed in all day. Actually "iced in" would better describe it. I've been painting non-stop. Here's one of the finished signs. I sure wish I could show you all the rest of the signs but I don't want to take the chance of the intended recipients seeing them! So, I'll keep them under wraps for now! ;) 

Any time I do one of these "Thankful" signs I can't help but to think of things I am thankful for. Today I am ever SO thankful that we have heat in our home! We have blankets and warm clothes... And most/best of all...we have each other to snuggle up with! Though...my 13yr old daughter isn't snuggling with me since her BFF is here. Lol. Maybe I should go crash their lil movie watching party they've got going on in there!! Whatcha think?? Lol

Thanksgiving is over but being grateful is something we should be every day of our lives! What are you thankful for today?
