Signs for Employees (and anyone else)

I was recently hired to create a few signs for a lady that I used to work with. She was going to be the instructor in a leadership class and wanted to give the students/employees each a gift. (So sweet!)

Her idea...
to have the employee's name on the sign along with several of the many qualities/characteristics/attributes that is often displayed by the employee. I fell in love with the idea and got started right away!
Here are the finished results!!

I just adore these!! I would love to do one of these for everyone in my family. Throughout life we are labeled so many different things and all too often people see the negative before they see the positive. What an awesome way to remind someone of the positive things that you see in them. It definitely brings my children to mind... and of course they are wonderful for adults just as well! Every single person needs to be lifted up and have these positive things spoken over them throughout their lives!! Who wouldn't want to wake up everyday to a sign declaring who and what they are, reminding them that they are unique and wonderfully made and special in every way?

If you are interested in ordering signs similar to these, any signs that are found in my photo gallery, or a sign that you have an idea for, please don't hesitate to call, text, or message me today!

***Christmas is just around the corner and there are only about 4-6 spots left for sign orders before I will have to put a hold on accepting any new orders with a Christmas deadline. We have just about reached our limit on how many we can create before the first of the year and definitely by Christmas! So if you're needing a sign completed and shipped by Christmas please do not hesitate, do not delay...contact me today to secure your sign order! Happy scrolling! ;)***

As always - thank all of you so very much for the love, kind words, support and encouragement! I am truly living my dream by being blessed and getting to do this every day! Thank you all SO MUCH!!!

Our Greatest Blessings

A dear, life-long friend of mine, Janet, ordered a sign from me the other day. I thought I'd share it with y'all because I think it's so sweet! Janet has such a caring heart so it's no surprise that she would come up with this sweet idea for a sign. I just have to brag on her a little and say that this young lady sacrificed a good bit of her time for me, a couple of years ago. My mom had a stroke and was in the hospital where Janet worked. Which makes it seem like it wouldn't be that big of a deal since she was there anyways right? Well under normal circumstances that might be true but Janet had recently had surgery on her foot...so she was off work for a few weeks. Who wants to come to their job site when they are off!?? Lol. Well...Janet does...at least to be by my side when I needed her the most. I will always be grateful for that and I will NEVER forget it! So I must say...that Janet is one of my many greatest blessings. ;)

(To recreate this sign for you the price would be approx $50.00)

Have a great rest of the week!!

Welcome Wednesday!

Good morning everyone! It's hump day!!
I've been spending a little time here and there on Facebook and noticing all of the "I'm thankful for..." Posts. So I thought I'd join along. But as I do I am saddened by the fact that it takes the month of November to make me think of what I'm thankful for. Hoping to remember every month, every week, every day that I have so much to be thankful for! We all get busy and forget to slow down and smell the roses...though I personally would rather stop and smell Starbucks than roses...the smell of roses reminds me of funerals. What? Well...they do!! But Starbucks...now that's a good smell! ;-P And it brings me lots of good memories annnnnd reminds me to slow down... though...the coffee makes me speed up. lol
Hey!! That reminds me!!....Ohhhh you are SO going to think I planned this!!...but I truly did not. I have a sign about being thankful AND it has a Starbucks cup in the picture!! How perfect is that?  Hahahahahaha! I really do...its not the best "staging of a sign" lol though it goes right along with this post... so instead of posting the "doesn't-actually-go-with-the-post-picture".... I'll post my Thankful sign for ya. ;) but first.....

Today I am thankful for....the days that I'm able to slow down, smell the Starbucks coffee, and be thankful for everything in my life!

(For those interested, this sign happens to still be available.)

I couldn't have planned this better if I had tried ;)
Happy Humpday folks. What are you thankful for today?

In The Beginning...Let There Be Signs

Hello blog land! I have finally found my way back to you. :-D I've decided to do the best I can to keep friends, family and customers alike, all up to date on the many projects that I create.
My main focus has been geared towards hand painted wooden signs...though I see rusty old metal in my near future as well. Most of the wood that I use is reclaimed lumber...from cabinet doors that's been thrown out on the curb to the antique wood that's  barely holding up an old North Texas barn! You are sure to get a one-of-a-kind piece of art when you order from designsbykendra.

My latest piece was inspired by the late Kidd Kraddick with his famous quote, "Keep looking up 'cause that's where it all is!"

This particular sign has been claimed, as it was a custom order by a dear sweet customer and friend. However this sign can be recreated for you. I have a few planks of wood left that are similar to these antique beauties. Depending on size, this sign would be $35-$45+.
Please keep in mind when browsing through pictures (I will upload as many as I can, soon) and choosing what you'd like to order...that all of the wood that I use is reclaimed. So I'm not always able to recreate the same sign and it will never be exactly the same. Each piece is unique as I make no attempts to cover, hide, repair or discard any wood that is with holes/knotholes, scratches and all of the beautiful natural distressing that is found in reclaimed antique wood. If you have your eye on a particular sign though, I will do my best to get the closest looking planks that I can. :-)

Here is another sign that I recently finished for another sweet and loyal customer of mine. You too can have a "Love Board" for $55-$85 (depending on size of board...this one is pretty large). Message me with approximate measurements and I'll get right on it for ya!! Also the arrow next to this sign is available! Mention this blog and you can take the arrow home for $15.00. Or add a name/word to it and take it home for $20! An added bonus...the opposite side of the arrow is a very distressed chippy white....sure to match any decor!

The signs in the picture above are all available right now for purchase! Contact, message me if you have any questions about any of them!

Well, that's all for now, but I will add more soon. As always, thanks for y'all's support and encouragement!!
